Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service - Pavilion and Farm

Dockery Architecture prepared the initial master plan, concept layout and facility program for a 10-acre site on the near east side of San Antonio.  Affectionately referred to as Greenies Urban Farm,  part of the  plan is the new office building for the Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service, Bexar County.  The Agrilife program includes the County’s Agriculture, Horticulture and 4H Extension agents.  It also includes the Family and Consumer Health program.  The new building is designed to compliment the adjacent urban farm and the surrounding natural area with wood and indigenous stone material, copious natural daylighting, and direct connections to the outdoors.  Internally, the 20,000 square foot facility is open but configured in zones that distinguish the various departments.  A large meeting room can be used for community events and educational programs.
